A NEW curriculum linked FREE teaching resource to educate children about the importance of road safety during holiday times.
The Hold My Hand lesson has been developed for students to learn about and discuss key safety messages when walking near roads and traffic, in particular, when in unfamiliar environments on school holidays. Using an interactive, online spinner, students will be presented with questions to spark discussion around keeping safe in a range of different environments.
They will talk about personal situations, identify the right thing to do around roads to keep safe and complete a work sheet activity designed to be taken home to further discuss the safety messages with their family.
We've been busy in local communities and schools, teaching how to stay safe and be responsible on the roads these holidays. Your child may have learned about keeping safe with Tom and Dinosaur in school on how to stay safe when out and about. Resources are available for your school on road safety at holiday time. So, if they haven't already, ask your child's teacher to jump online and use the free materials before the holiday break.
